When it's time to replace your AC unit, air conditioning installation is not something you want to leave up to the amateurs. Air conditioners are complex pieces of equipment that require extensive training and certifications to install. Air conditioning installation services are best left to technicians who have years of experience in the trade.

Air Conditioning Replacement

FIrst Step:
Estimate and Plan

Your Red Barn Service technician will come to your home to do an initial assessment to determine the correct size of air conditioner you require. The technician will figure out the square footage of your home and do some load calculations taking into consideration the climate in your area and the size of your property.

They will also take a look at the condition of your home with respect to its ability to contain conditioned air. For example, are there drafty areas, or is it well insulated? This will help the technician to recommend the proper size of HVAC system you need.

Second Step:
Choose your System

There is a wide range of air conditioners on the market. The type, size, and energy efficiency of the model will affect the cost. It is important though to remember that the cheapest model may not be the best value for your money.

A more efficient, energy-saving one could actually save you more money on energy bills over time and may be well worth the extra initial investment. An air conditioner with a higher SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) will be more energy efficient and cost more than one with a lower SEER rating.

Final Step:
REplace and maintain

Your Red Barn Service technician will turn off the power to your old unit and then drain any refrigerant from it before actually taking it apart. Once the old unit is removed, your new one will be installed. Depending on the scope of the project, duct-work may need to be repaired or replaced as well. If duct-work is involved, then the project may take longer.

Once the installation is complete and the technician completes his review to confirm everything is functioning properly, they will talk to you about our maintenance membership plan to ensure you keep your system running smoothly for as long as possible.
